Employment Requirements:
All employees must obtain a Staff Health Appraisal before and every two years after employment. Child Care employees are required to obtain a Staff Health Appraisal annually. All first-time employees are also required to obtain a Tuberculosis (TB) test and submit the results to Children’s Aid Society. All first-time employees are required to obtain a Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine if they have never received one.
All new employees are required to complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania at the time of employment and every five years thereafter. The link for the training is http://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/
All new employees must have current (one year after the date of issuance) clearances from the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After initial employment, new clearances will need to be obtained every 36 months for all staff.
When applying for FBI clearance, employees must register under the Department of Human Services.
