Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate? Together is for married and unmarried adult couples.

What does it cost? It’s FREE! There is no charge for anything: workshop registration, meals, gas cards, child care, etc.

What can I expect at workshops? Workshops are designed to be fun, educational and interactive. They are a blend of instruction, group and couple activities.

Do I have to share my relationship issues? No. We don’t ask you to share anything personal. This is not counseling or therapy – it’s education. You can share at your own comfort level and confidentiality is important and well protected.

We fight all the time. Is this workshop for me? All couples fight, right? Sure. And this workshop will likely teach you how to speak your mind in healthy ways, even how to ‘fight fair’. But if you are in an abusive relationship, this workshop may not give you the kind of help you need and participation could put you at greater risk due to the content presented during the workshop.

Does your partner embarrass you with putdowns… controls what you do, who you see or talk to, or where you go…takes your money or refuses to give you money… intimidates you with a weapon….shoves, slaps, or hits you….acts like the abuse is no big deal, that it’s your fault, or even denies doing it? Answering yes to any of these questions may mean you’re in an abusive relationship, and a relationship education workshop may not give you the help you need.

But you are not alone! For support and more information, please call CROSSROADS at 1-800-598-3998.  All calls are confidential.

Is this religion-based? No. Because of the funding source, there are no religious references.

This sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch? There is no catch! Funding was provided for Together because the importance of successful relationships in our lives was recognized. All that is required of you is your time to attend and participate in the project.
